I Got my dad the big button BT phone out of the argos and now he wants another phone in the bedroom. We put our spare cheap one in at first but it only rings in not out. Is this because there is two lines joining one box. The new BT phone says it is compatible with other BT phones so if i buy another big button bt phone will that work ok. Will I have to register it to the phone he has if so how, or will I just plug it in the ntl socket. Omg I no I should have just bought two but bless him he is getting old now and I dont want to waste his money should it not work. Thanks for looking and any advice would be good.

it only rings in not out.
Do you mean in not out or out not in ?
The most common phone extension problem is some (usually older) phones need the ring wire so if they are attached to a 2 wire extension they can call out but won't ring on incoming calls. If this is the case try connecting the phone through a spare ADSL filter if you have one. These have their own ring signal capacitor.0 -
Get a big button cordless phone. Or 2 of them. Just make sure he knows how they work.

You can program one of the memory buttons to ring you etc. Might be as well to buy a cheap 3 pack and keep the spare ones in a drawer somewhere.0 -
