Help please we're just going round in circles

Hello I really hope somone might be able to help or offer some advice?

I'm really going to try not to waffle on but here goes....
My husband and I have an account with HSBC that has a overdrawn amount on it of £1600 that started just after our daughter was born back in 2006. We have stopped using this account compleatly as it was the only way to stop the charges and instead recieve £25/month intrest which is added onto the outstanding amount.
We also have two other accounts with HSBC which also keep going over drawn and we are being charged the maximum £150 per account per month aswell as £352/m in a managed loan repayments. We have called HSBC lots of time begging to stop the charges just for 1 month so we can try and breath again but they just won't help even though if they can help us with the charges we can start paying the overdraft off.
At the beginning of April we recieved a letter from hsbc saying if the amount wasn't paid in 14 days they were refering the account into a debt collection agency.
I know I should have done this sooner but I decided to sit down and add up all the charges for this account from the past 6 years and was shellshock that this amount added up to £2500. I sat down and typed a letter to hsbc requesting a refund of these charges. I know that the case is on hold at the moment but asked them to also put this account on hold until and out come has been reached.
I sent the letter back to them on the 14th April and they have confirmed they have recieved it but I have had nothing back from them.
What is my next step?
I have also just checked my internet banking and they have revirsed another one of our direct debits again today. We simply can not absorb these charges they keep adding onto our accounts and we cannot hold our heads above water.

Sorry to waffle on but please please if someone could give any advice I would be really thankfull I really don't know what to do.
Nothing to report:p

I don't really know too much about reclaiming, I have reclaimed, but mine was very straight forward, have you looked at claiming under financial hardship rules, the banks are still looking at these cases, don't know if youfit the criteria. Hopefully someone who understands these things better will be along soon and able to advise.

I would send the second letter to them. Have you read Martin's guide to claiming via financial hardship route?
