old mira sport shower...need advice

Hi everyone

My very trustworthy mira sport 8.5KW (1995) has finally given up.
I have no hesitation in wanting to buy another MIRA


The thing is....the hole in the tile/wall where the inlet pipe pops through is about 3 or 4 inches ABOVE the hole for the power cable!!!
The new showers have it reversed? i.e. expecting the water supply BELOW the electricity supply.
I have no spare shower tiles and I cant afford a new tile job.

What model to choose with the minimum of wrecking needed.

Please advise.

I had a similar thing happen and I looked on ebay for the exact same model and one came up and I bought it. Easy to fit if everything is in the right place.

You can still buy Mira Sport showers, just Google them. I just replaced a 9.5kW one for a customer, like for like - power and water inlets in the same place as their old one, but don't know how old it was as it "came with the house" last year!. If not - then aim for something with the water inlet in the same place, it's easier to relocate the cable than the pipe!!

Try your local PTS, they have mira advance 8.5kw in the same shape for 199+vat on special for this month

I have spied the mira on ebay.... fingers crossed!

Have now just discovered that my fridge/freezer......again 1995 is now playing up!
Oh......and my washing machine is giving bother too!
It never rains but it pours!
