Sums up the firm quite well really.

A "nice little earner" because the majority of people don't check their bills that closely and won't notice/complain.

Oh I noticed all right. This fault was increasing my call costs on the 08442 number 100times.

I received my bill from Telewest and they'd charged 50ppm to the same number. I phoned them once and they said to contact DiscountDial as it was their fault!! Lucky I read this thread when it first appeared so I called again and asked them to refund me as you can't charge 50ppm for an 084420 number! Strangely, they asked me if I remember the coutnry I called and when I told them, they said they'd refund it. I'm surprised they haven't sorted out their billing systems when the problem was first reported to them! Like a previous poster said, I guess they try their luck and just refund those who check their bill/notice!

I have a letter dated 06/04/06 from Helen Dempsey a National customer relations manager at Telewest. She is at the National Liason Centre ,Evolution House,1,Chippingham Street,Attercliffe,Sheffield S9 3SE.
    Also email through https://www.telewest.co.uk
She clearly states that 0844 200 numbers have now been corrected to 0.5p minute plus the standard call connection fee.
When was your last call using this number? You may want to look again at my other posts where I suggest a call to the Chief Executive's office did the trick.
Always use the geographical number and insist that the receptionist puts you through as urgent to Fraser.
