Are there any joining offers available at the moment ?

I need to recoup some disgraceful bank charges Barclays have imposed on me - so wondering if there are any new accounts with joining incentives like the A&L £100 offer so I can give Barclays the middle finger ?

First Direct have £100 if you use their switching service for d/d's & s/o's. Then they pay £100 if you decide to leave after 6 months. Must pay in £1500 a month though otherwise they charge £10pm.

Halifax give you £5 pm if you pay in £1000+ pm. You can have 3 of these a/c's. Take care with their charging policy though.

With both banks go to their website and check out their full t&c. As you have been bitten once you should take care that you are not jumping from the frying pan into the fire. Depending on how you plan to use the a/c will dictate which bank to go for.

No reason why you shouldn't have a/c in all 3 banks (inc A&L) if your credit score is good enough. Play them for what they are worth if you have the dedication to swop money about between them all without incurring hefty penalties. Rewards are good but not if you pay as a result.
