Hello,
I bought my dress at a sample sale in the US, I am American and the wedding is where I am from. I spent $1000 on a $5000 dress. It is 100% silk satin and a designer gown.
The same gown here would have cost a great deal more.0 -
My dress was £705, but if you add in the alterations, petticoat hire, underwear, shoes, tiara and veil it comes in at well over £1,000. Worth every penny too.0

For those with a low budget, have you tried an Alice James dress? I tried a couple on in a shop near me (Manchester) that were £450 or maybe lower in the sale. They were beautiful, just like any popular designer but at a fraction of the cost. Try googling her. Theres quite a few stockists but id recommend the shop i went to in manchester, near the arndale centre. The staff were amazing! Hope that might help someoneWhat matters most is how well you walk through the fire0

My chinese (millybridal) one cost £250 but it didn't fit and there were 'issues' so I managed to get a refund and then bought the most gorgeous dress (best I have tried on and actually loved) for £400 including bolero.
So glad the milly one went wrong actually as when I tried it on it was so hot and heavy that I loved my new emergency dress even more."I've fallen down a hole" - said in best Monty Python voice-over.0 -
Mine is £135. It is a tea length bridesmaids dress that is being made in ivory, and I've ordered it from the US.0

Mine was £90 including shipping, and alterations (needed to be shortened) an additional £15. My husband's dinner jacket cost more, but my dress was a miracle of engineering (I was 4 1/2 months pregnant and nobody could see so much as a bulge around the middle) and looked like it cost a fortune. In the UK the fabric alone would have been around £75-80, never mind the work in making it.Organised Birthdays and Christmas: Spend So Far: £193.75; Saved from RRP £963.76

£120 custom made by a lovely dressmaker! If we were going for the big wedding then my £1500 designer dress was going to be ordered from Landy for £180.0
