Putting camcorder on pc onto Disc

Im back again for help:o

Ive just put one of my camcorder mini dv tapes onto the pc, and Ive tried to put it onto a disc so we can watch it on the telly at some point in dvd player, But, when i tell it to write to cd and put a cd in the pc its saying
the disc in the drive is not a writable cd and it is full (thats with a Dvd-RW disc), Then whe ive read other instructions its telling me to use a cd, and that then tells me the movie is too long. Its only a 45min tape thats been copied to pc.

All the discs i have are new and not been used or anything. Is there a simple easy way to do this, I used to have cyber to go and that was really easy to use but it stopped working and i deleted it.

Any ideas welcome

Jayne

Your video file needs to be converted in order that it can be played on a DVD player.
You need some sort of DVD burning programme to do this, Microsoft DVD maker, standard with Vista HP, Roxio creator or something similar.
If you simply transfer your file to a DVD it will not play.
PS CDs and DVDs are different beasts.
That gum you like is coming back in style.

All the free dvd/cd burners won't convert avi (the file format from your camcorder) to mpeg2 (for dvd) or mpeg1 (vcd), so you'll have to convert using Super (free) 1st then use Ashampoo (free burner).
