Powerplaydirect - never again!!

I ordered a PSP game from Powerplaydirect.com last Mon the 20th March. It was in stock and they despatched it on Tuesday the 21st - all was well as it was a birthday present for my son who's 9 today, the 27th.
I was a bit concerned when the despatch note said to allow between 3-6 working days for delivery and also surprised when I discovered it was coming from Guernsey as this was not apparent on the website.
Well my son's 9 today and still waiting for his game. I emailed the company but they don't seem one bit interested and say I have to wait 21 days before they will investigate and issue a replacement.
I am disappointed as up to now I have had very good experiences when buying online with other companies. Many things are so quick to arrive I have been amazed and if I have ever had cause to complain it has been dealt with well.
The choice is yours but this is the first and last time I will be shopping with Powerplaydirect.

Your post had 44 views without any comment. I think it's because most people already know that most DVD/video game retail websites are offshore. There's no VAT levied on their operations in the Channel Islands which is why they can sell cheaper. The lengthier delivery time is the price you pay for being able to buy it cheaper. Also, Customs can always decide to open a package, which can cause another delay.

Never had a problem with this site myself, only Tesco Jersey have ever proved to be inefficient for me.

Just to let you know this arrived after 8 days. Whilst I appreciate that offshore might take longer, it's really not apparent unless you look hard that they are based in Guernsey. Also I have had a number of things sent from the USA in just 3 or 4 days so I still question the time it has taken. The game was quite cheap compared to elsewhere but offset against the delay in it arriving, I don't think I would trade with them again. Maybe OK if you're not in any hurry but that would be the only time.

I am having a similar problem with CD wow. i ordered my copy of DVD harry potter sunday 19 arrived thursday. Ordered my friend a copy with her details on monday 20 march. e-mail to say dispatched 21 march still hasn't arrived.

Have said i will give it to yesterday and will be requesting a full refund. Received an e-mail today asking us to wait a futher 2 days.

ive ordered a couple of things recently from cdwow, they quote 5-7 days, but normally arrive in 3 or 4. The last couple of items took 8 days though. I ordered my last item on the 21st too, and it came today, so hopefully yours wont be far behind. Looks like there could be some gremlins in their delivery system
