Can anyone find a privacy policy?

From The Site: "not every tradesman is going to be a member of an organisation or have insurance etc. That doesn't mean they aren't good at their trade, a local handyman can be cheap and trustworthy".

You pretty much proved my point. I searched for a roofer in my area, and there isn't one within a hundred miles! (I live in Central Scotland and Glasgow, Edinburgh, Perth, Stirling and Dundee are all within 60 miles!).

I'd like to see a dodgy builder guide. I could recommend one or two for that website. I've used three roofers in three years already, and yet to find an honest one.

Lets be honest here ..... If you find a good tradesman, or know of a good tradesman, you are hardly likely to be telling the world are you. ;)

I don't know, I certainly make sure everyone knows about the ones who've ripped me off!
  • Yes I agree it is very hard to find good traders. Its strange (perhaps  ) but I just looked on trustatrader.com and there was only one registered in London.
There must be more out there, and when we find one perhaps we can help them be more available to others by using such sites.

i did a job for some one yesterday who had had a builder recomended to them and left the job half finished and had took more money thn it was worth?????

Anyway they got me out of the papaer so I asked why qafter going through that and they said well after a failed recomendation it proves you cant trust nowt so they took a risk on a plasterer out of the paper.

And yes I always do a good job at a decent price cos I like working a lot, no I dont I like the money it brings cos I'm ace at spending it, so need constant resuply :)

I'm curious to know why this thread is titled "Don't get ripped off by the Plumber " ?

The OP goes on to generalise about tradesmen as a whole...and not just plumbers, so why not title it " Don't get ripped off by Tradesmen " ?

    Just curious...that's all

I'm thinkin of startin a thread called dont get ripped off by a dentist, roofer or solicitor, mortgage lender, or an IFA at £90-£130p/h
