I bought some Tiles from Topps Tiles the border tiles in my shower cubicle are crumbling I have had these tile replaced twice already and now I have lost confidence in the product. I want the complete shower room re-tiling with different tiles. The last time they were replaced was 2 years ago how do I stand legally? They are saying I signed a paper saying they are no longer responsible!

Hi Flanny, Topps Tiles cannot take statutory rights away from you - however what exactly did you sign?!

How long ago were they purchased? As they have already been replaced then you may be able to look at a refund for the tiles however the onus would be on you to prove the defect with the tiles and not you misusing them in some way - maybe cleaning them with some harsh cleaning agent etc. And you would most likely only be able to claim for the border tiles as there would be no real requirement to rip out the rest of the tiles if there is nothing wrong with them. Either way if you want to progress with this you need to get an independant report to find out what's wrong with the tiles to start this off.
