Once went to see REM on a very very hot day at Milton Keynes Bowl and someone was selling chuncks of water melon for £1. They were making a fortune and each water melon probably made over 6 slices and the probably only bought them for less than £1 each.
They had them in the back of a pick up truck and one small table. There were about four lads chopping them up and massive queues of people trying to buy them.
Need a really hot day though and a captive audience!
I think it was probably more that they were so cheap. Food at concerts is normally very expesnive and what you got for your money was great, so everyone won.I want to be credit card and loan free by Christmas 20100
