Start-up problem (error).

I'm having problems starting up my old spare laptop, the message I get is;

0200: Failed Fixed Disc 0

I get the option of selecting F1 or F2 - when selecting F1, I get the message OPERATING SYSTEM NOT FOUND.

It seems intermittent, sometimes it starts up, sometimes it takes 4 or 5 attempts to stat up.

Any advice please to solve this "niggle"??

sounds like the HDD is giving up the ghost.....

when you have got it started up, make an image of your HDD onto an external HDD, then when you replace the internal HDD you should be able to reload it from the image you've created..

hi there

reseat the hdd cables and check it shows up in the BIOS

also check that the drive u wanna boot from is 1st in the boot list of hard drives

Could be as previous poster said tho - hdd is on the road out
