My 5yo gets recurrent water infections and sometimes a syringe straight down the back of the throat is the only way to get medicine into her...
A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...
Krystal is so smart and funny and wonderful I am struck dumb in awe in her presence.

when my DS (then nearly 2) had to take a six month course of TB meds (precautionary) i couldnt get him to take it at all, in the end i had to take him to a childrens ward at the local hospital, they wrapped him up in a sheet and layed him down on the bed then used the syringe to get the meds into him.

But, there is more to the story!

2 weeks later he learnt that he got a cookie, great ment i could give him meds at home rather than the 15 odd mile trip. So we take the meds home and all im getting is cookie cookie, got in, put the meds on the side in the kitchen, came and and closed the child gate. Potter around, tidying etc while DS was in his room. 5 mins later i hear cookie cookie, go to have a chat with DS, DS is standing in the kitchen with one off the bottles  which was half drunk! Ive never felt so sick in my life  i remember sticking my fingers down his throat trying to make him sick, then straight away into a taxi to A&E. We got there, they didnt seem to bothered and told us to wait, 15 mins later a nurse comes over cause it looks like ive got an ompa lompa for a kid, and says is he usualy that colour - the meds made his pee bright orange and ob the amount he had turned him orange, even his tears were orange!!! After an overnight stay he was ok, but it was the scariest time of my life!!! Now, childgate or not all bottles of meds go on the top shelf straight away, mind you hes 7 now!

I used to have trouble with mine too I used the syring method but gave her a beaker/bottle to drink and while she was drinking it put the syringe in the side of her mouth and gave her it whilst she was drinking. She's now 3 and thinks medicine is wonderful and have to tell her that she cant have more until later. Strange child lol

Please tell me they haven't given you tablets for a 2yo?????

For liquid meds the easiest by far is a oral syringe. If she's really distressed, wait until she's almost asleep and slowly squirt it into the side of her mouth, at this age she's still young enough to instictively swallow when she feels the liquid.
