Why are people such LIARS!!!!

We were supposed to be exchanging contracts last week, moving date 3rd April. this had all been agreed for months.

found out today that person at top of chain claims never to have heard about the moving date of the 3rd - what a big fat liar, his solicitors secretary has since let it slip that the date was on their file!

he wont move out til the 13th - ie day before Easter weekend -grrrr!

why are people such liars?

and perhaps more importantly, do I stand a cats chance in hell of booking a removal firm now for that date? I dont dare book them til we've exchanged and we wont exchange until at least the end of the week now.

It may be on the solicitor's file, but did they actually pass the information to their client?
  • I'm in a similar situation but no chain so not as bad.
Supposed to exchange today and complete on Friday but still no word from seller's solicitor.
Don't even know what the seller's solicitor has left to do but wish they'd hurry u about it. Have booked time off, removals and deliveries to new house so am really starting to panic now! Do you think we will hear tomorrow?

What makes it worse is that am off work tomorrow on strike so will spend all day pacing up and down just waiting for that call!
