Touring Caravan in Sites in Llangollen Area

I can highly recommend Wern Isaf Farm - Within walking distance of the Eisteddfod and the centre of Llangollen. Very friendly.
BUT it is on top of a very steep hill, and there is a very narrow road to the site. So unless you are very comfortable towing a caravan I would be cautious getting there - early morning arrival could help to avoid any traffic coming in the opposite direction.

Many thanks for your reply. Will definately look at that web site. Am looking forward to going. We have never towed the caravan up north before always stayed towards Pembrokeshire but this is an ideal opportunity to try it out!!!

Dim Problem! - Eisteddfod week can get a bit crazy in the centre of Llangollen - so keep an eye out for colourful characters jumping out in front of the car! :j0

Diolch,
Think we may have our wires crossed I'm going up for the Urdd Eisteddford, do you mean the International one held in Llangollen itself? We are hoping to stay in Llangollen and then travel up to Ruthin from there as we thought that maybe Ruthin itself would be too busy with the Urdd. Would love to be in Llangollen when the International Eisteddfod is on as I believe it is as you say "very colourful"!!
Have stayed in Chirk on numerous occasions and spent the day in Llangollen when my husband has to work up North Wales, have had many happy trips on the steam train and on the canal.
If you can think of any other camp sites I would be very grateful as I am sure they are going to get booked up fast!

Hi there.
Llamgollen is a beautiful place. My husband and I have just moved to Johnstown which is a ten to fifteen minute drive from Llan.
I am still to take my other half on the train. I have been plenty of times as a kid but hubby is originally from Birmingham.
Some friends of ours from Birmingham came to visit last summer and stayed at a campsite called The Plassey.
We went up to visit them and the site was lovely - and has an award from Britains cleanest toilets !!!

and they also have their own brewery on site - http://www.plasseybrewery.co.uk/0
