No more smoking!!!

Finally got up the courage to give up smoking, and I am so excited. Will give me a lot more money to throw at my outstanding overdrafts, and should get me debt free sooner. Just got to stick to it now. Fingers crossed. :j

I'm an ex-smoker of 13 years (gave up at 21 ;)) and it was the best thing I ever did so I feel dead chuffed you've decided to give up!

there's a "moneysavers don't smoke" thread on the health sub-board of families relationships etc. You'll get loads of support there from other money savers doing the same thing. I really respect you for giving up, I have never smoked but I always think about how hard it would be for me to give up eating chocolate. I hope you crack it!

Thanks guys, thats so nice of all of you. I am really determined not to smoke again( a lot easier now you can smoke in pubs etc up here). Got a big shock when I worked out how much money i was spending a year, and how I could pay off my debts quicker. Yay

  • We believe in you! I have never smoked so I will not know the pain you'll go through, but I have seen how it ravishes a person (both physically & fiscally). You can try getting something like the Mortgage pig, like a little container & put the £5 your packet of cigarettes would have cost into it & at the end of the month count the fivers & put it towards your debt, or something nice for yourself. We'll all support you 100%! Good Luck! I'm so proud.
