On the plus side, it has insect-pleasing white flowers, followed by bird-pleasing red, orange, or yellow berries.
On the minus side it has long thorns.
It grows quite quickly, but tends to need a little support from the wall/fence.0 -

Not seen Pyracantha as a proper hedge. We took one out last year - grew to roof height against the east wall of the house.0
