have you checked your paypal, in case inadvertently a reciept has found its way there?

definately call the police in any case, your CC may need a crime reference no before they can do much

sorry to hear that Kev x
 Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.

Checked my paypal, funny thing is it had my halifax CC as the card for that account, which expired months ago

im awaiting the reply from ebay as to the specifics of the transfer and what they intend to do

Having taken the banks to court i will not let something like this happen and if they have info they WILL give it to me

try posting this on the ebay board (towards the bottom of the list of boards) there are some superexperienced ebayers on there, who have seen it all before and know the system. I'm sure that you won't end up being liable for fraudulent use of your credit card, and you have taken the correct action in reporting it as soon as you became aware. Unfortunately it will probably take up a bit of time to sort out, and it's energy you'd rather be spending getting debt free. But I wouldn't be too concerned in the long run. Good luck

so just to get this straight, was it a paypal transaction or just a straight credit card transaction?

What a nightmare Kev, hopefully Egg will investigate and find on your behalf in this instance and refund your money. I would call your local police station and see if they need to give you a crime ref no.
