Floss and brush or brush and floss?

As the title suggests which order do you do it in?

I brush then floss, oh flosses then brushes. Don't know if there is a 'right' way round!

    I floss then brush.

Otherwise I think your toothpaste mightn't get into the crevices between your teeth which haven't yet been flossed to remove plaque?

Love is the answer. At least for most of the questions in my heart,
Like why are we here? And where do we go?And how come it's so hard?
It's not always easy,And sometimes life can be deceiving,
I'll tell you one thing, its always better when we're together

red gets the gold star!!! :Dphunkles would have done as well, but I don't like mouthwash!

I would recommend brush, floss (or interdental brushes like Tepes), brush and then no rinsing - not even with water. Just spit out excess toothpaste, and let some stick around your teeth.
    How to find a dentist.
    1. Get recommendations from friends/family/neighbours/etc.
    2. Once you have a short-list, VISIT the practices - dont just phone. Go on the pretext of getting a Practice Leaflet.
    3. Assess the helpfulness of the staff and the level of the facilities.
    4. Only book initial appointment when you find a place you are happy with.

Yes Toothsmith I was told by my dentist that mouthwash is a waste of time, which is just as well cause I don't like it either.

Mouth wash has alcohol in it that isn't good for the teeth. (At least that was the case the last time I used it and found out it's harmful so stopped.) I hateusing a tongue scraper so won't use it as it makes me gag.

Toothsmith, I'm not sure I like the idea of brushing without rinsing. It's a bit like having a shower, soaping yourself down and not washing off. Yuck!

Not really. The function of toothpaste nowadays isn't really to do the cleaning - the brush would do that on it's own.

It's to get fluoride onto the tooth surface.

Now if the fluoride introduced had longer to act on the tooth surface, it would do more good than if it was rinsed out.

To use your analogy of washing, think of toothpaste more like moisturiser than soap. You wouldn't put moisturiser on and then jump straight into the shower.
