    Hi comperking.
    Thanks for all that info.

Can I just ask, what is a word scanner?
I've been on e-bay and searched for one, but nothings coming up.
I would like to get one of them for when I'm out shopping, save me scribbling all the addresses down.

My shopping habits have totally changed now I've starting comping.
I look out for all the competitions in the store, when looking at wine I look for neck labels for the comps. Washing powder and cereals nearly always have some comp of some kind on them. And hubby has been very happy when I've come home with some single bottles of beer because they had a comp on them!
And I've even started looking at the pet food aisle, even though I haven't got a pet. Just to see if any comps are there.

Also a tip I picked up elsewhere...If you do need to send in a reciept of proof of purchase, always buy that item seperate.
Because if you have bought two or three things with proof needed, and it's all on one reciept, you can only enter one comp then.
The cashiers think I'm mad when I ask for two or three different items to be scanned and paid for separetly!:rotfl:

  • From the current Sainsbury's magazine:

Win a break in Morse's Oxford:
Q: What is the name of Lewis's sidekick in the new series?
    A: DS Hathaway
Enter by phoning 0906 270 3768 (call costs 25p per min, average call time 2 mins) or send answer, name, address and daytime phone number on a postcard to Sainsbury's Magazine/Lewis Prize Draw, 20 Upper Ground, London SE1 9PD
The 1st prize is a weekend for 2 at Malmaison hotel, Oxford, and includes a night's stay for 2 people, dinner, with a bottle of house wine, and breakfast. The prize must be taken by the end of April 2007 and is strictly subject to availability. Travel to and from the hotel is not included. The winner will also receive a copy of the script, signed by Kevin Whately. 10 runners up will each receive a boxed DVD set of Inspector Morse Complete Series 8.

There's also a family holiday with Sunsail, but I'm posting that in the main section because it's got online entry.

  • Seen on a leaflet insert in Sainsbury's Magazine. The prize is a 10 night cruise holiday on board Oriana for 2, sharing an outside twin cabin. Departing 05.11.07.

Send name and address on a postcard to P&O Cruises Brochure Service, PO Box 199, Clevedon Hall, Clevedon BS21 7JE. State if you do not wish to be contacted further (otherwise they'll probably start sending you brochures).

Does Morrisons do a magazine? I never seem to be able to find it, I guess it is meant to be at the bag packing section but i never see it there, also is it free?
  • Hi Folks

This may help fellow compers find a club in their area.

Some may out of date but worth a try.

    Good Luck

Hi Comperking - thanks for all your help in this thread. I have a question for you though.

In your big post above you said to look out for "all the free mags issued in your town" - can you give some help as to where to find these as I wouldn't have a clue where to start.

    Thanks again :)
