Hi
I logged into my fb today to find a message on my wall to say that me and some guy called Paulo Valerio Alves are now friends.
The problem with this is that I have no idea who this person is!! I have not ever received a friends request from him and I have definately not accidently accepted one. Im very fussy about who i accept as a friend as ive got pictures of my family on fb.
I viewed his profile and he was new to fb and i was 1 of 4 friends. I have deleted him as a friend and changed my fb password just in case my account has been hacked.
Anyone got any idea whats going on? Im quite p*ssed off about this as im very security conscious and cant believe that something like this can happen. Is this a scam or something?
I tried reporting him but i felt like my report would just disappear into an email void. Plus i dont want my account frozen or some sort of retaliation if he is dodgy.

I see youre not a facebooker!
On fb someone has to request to be your friend and you have to accept that request, only then are they able to view your profile. It should be impossible for a stranger to become your friend and see your profile unless you give them permission. (Incidently I do not belong to any networks.) This is all for security reasons so you can choose who sees you and your details.
Its not just a free for all you know!0 -
Did you know that Facebook automatically adds everyone from our email or msn contact list? you probably missed this when you first signed up.“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”

It can do that but when I signed up I had to ok it first.
But OP doesn't know this guy???
I'd be VERY careful, double check all your privacy settings and block him completely.
Very dodgy."She who asks is a fool once. She who never asks is a fool forever"
I'm a fool quite often

Yes its fully up to date. I never have any issues with security on my pc or any websites I use so Im baffled as to how this guy managed it. I was going to send him a message asking him but thought better of it.
His profile seemed quite 'normal' but then i guess it would. Not like he was some crazy nerdy teenage hacker
