Started in 2007 but never took to court is it too late?

Hi, Hope you cna help.

I issued all my letters to Halifax in 2007 for around £4000 and they gave me £1000 payment which I never asked for I sent them a letter saying that I accept the payment as part payment only and continue to claim for the full amount but I never did the court thing because all this started with the OFA and I didn't know I could.
Can I still continue or can I start again, if I have to start againa can I include the charges since then in a new claim? If it's a new claim do I ask them again for the charges in the last 6 years and go to the beginning either way I'll do it just want to do it right. thanks you

I would start with the reference for the previous claim and add on the charges since then and deduct the amount already refunded. So that is £3000 + additional charges.
I have not worked for NatWest Bank since February 2009
