    AFAIK it is for the value of the goods or services in total, you cannot split them into deposit and final payment,as from my quote in reply #5 from Which; -
    "The goods or services you have bought must have cost between £100 and £30,000."

    thanks once again, yes total for the job is 34500k, at the time i only had £8200 in my bank so he rewrote the insurance cert for £8200. then the further money is split into segments.
