Hello all, I was wondering if I could ask for you advice.

After loads of problems with Abbey, finally decided to switch my bank account to HSBC.

I chose the Green Advance Account to save me paperwork but I did not realise I now need a cheque to transfer my DD from my ING Direct account linked to my old Abbey (my fault).

Is there any way to transfer the DD from ING to my new HSBC account without a cheque? maybe by using their "switch" service? HSBC said that they wouldn't give me a cheque for this account (too Green for that, although I am happy enough with their service so far).
