Car insurance premium reaching 25 during policy

Hello everyone,

I just wondered if anyone had any information or advice on the following. I have just rang Tesco about my car insurance renewal, in a few months I will turn 25 which means I will no longer be subjected to their compulsory excess for young drivers. However when questioning the advisor on this he said that I would still be liable if I had an accident for the extra excess even when I turn 25, it would only be removed when I renew next year.

I just wondered if anyone else had experienced this? I just feel a little annoyed, I don't see why they aren't removed automatically.

Don't you just love knowledgable call centre staff not miss inform customers...

This is such a basic mistake and anyone with any basic knowledge of Insurance would have known the correct answer. Even the customer knew more about the excess than the employee.

If you have the time please ring them back up and explain the incorrect information you have been given to a superviser so they can train the employee to give the correct information
