Internet problem

had broadband problem with the line which is now been checked and repaired.
But since the problem internet pages don't open although Skype and YM work. Plus various other connections to my office including work e-mail (Outlook).
If I re-boot the pc restarts it says firewall is turned off so I turn it back on, this is a new problem too. Internet pages open for a while but then stop and then won't re-open until you re-boot again.
Run Malware and Avast virus scan and all showed no issues.
Anyone help please?
