Cold calls about reclaiming PPI - HELP!

Options
I'm hoping someone can help. I received a call on my mobile today, the person knew my full name and said I was entitled to claim back money paid for PPI. I don't have any PPI on anything. He asked if I had a mortgage and I stupidly gave out who this was with and the amount it was. I'm really worried now that they will be able to access my personal details. I didn't give out any personal details like bakn details, address or DOB. Can anyone help?

    Hi there

Many are receiving these calls, and you should be okay not to have given your "personal details", unfortunately if whenever you have applied for finance especially in recent years your name and telephone details are on data.
Have you applied for credit in the last few years? And given your telephone details.

Since the recession we are having no end of phone calls and also registered with TPS, you can register free with these to block unwanted calls, and if they do ring or harassing you, you can report and complain.

Good luck and just tell them your not interested.;)

  • Hi there,

Thanks for this. I applied for a mortgage about a year and a half ago. As I say they never asked me for back details, they just checked their system and said the mortgage looked fine and then the call ended. Surely they won't be able to access any personal details from mortgage details alone? I'm pnicking now!

Did you take a note down of the telephone number, if this was left that is?

I hate it when that happens, where no number has been left.......

You will find by browsing on these threads there are many more this have happened to, maybe check this out on the mortgage thread as well.;)
