It is a case of waiting to see.

However, I have had to carry out such visits, & was told to say I'm not offering a house. That said, the people I was visiting had usually been matched to a property, & were due to be offered it, but details couldn't be disclosed. Usually this was because either the previous tenants were still in it (& it would be bad for prospective tenants to go knocking for a look around), or there were repairs to be done.

He would also confirm that the property in mind is suitable - hence asking about the mobility issues - ie you wouldn't offer a person who couldn't get up stairs a 4th floor flat where there is no lift. As this would only become a problem in the future if the property is unsuitable.

So, again without getting the hopes up, perhaps some good news is on the way?

He was asking if a house would be suitable, he said that there were no 4 bedroomed bungalows and 2/3 bedroomed ones were rare, he said that a 4 bedroomed place is what we needed. I comfirmed that we would be ok with stairs as we are managing with stairs now, he also wanted to know if a stairlift would be suitable now or in the future - in my DH's case we would probably need a stair lift in the future as his condition gets worse.

The property we bidded on has 4 bedrooms, wider doors with ramps (my 5 1/2 year old still needs a buggy and possible a disable buggy in the future if she outgrows a normal buggy), a downstair walkin shower and a stair lift.

They'll definitely let you know if you're successful! Probably by both methods.

Sounds like the property has already has some adaptations. It all makes sense, I wouldn't want an adapted property, suitable for someone with mobility issues to go to a person who has no disability. Therefore, the property sounds suitable.
It's getting harder & harder to keep the government in the manner to which they have become accustomed.

    Update .....
Got a phonecall this afternoon from the council, we have been successful in bidding on the house, they are just waiting for the keys and then they will contact us to so we can view it.

    Thanks lemonjelly for your advice
