Impatient Buyers!!

Little rant...
I offer second class postage on my items (3-5 days delivery apparently). And i post my items out the same day i get payment. So say if they paid for their item on monday, they would have it by wednesday (sometimes thursday- due to the post).
But yet i still don't have full stars on dispatch time?!
I usually have to wait a week for the items i buy on ebay (unless its a business), and still leave top stars.
I got a message on tuesday from a buyer asking where her item was, and i had a look- she had bought and paid for it saturday night. And paid for second class postage. So how does that work?? It makes me really angry that people on ebay expect things the very next day (oh yes, even on a sunday, i have been moaned at because post doesnt come on a sunday!), even when they dont pay for first class.
Does anyone else find this?
PS im a private seller!

I tend to send everything first class these days as I want my buyers to get their items as quickly as possible. I did used to send them second class but I had quite a few items go missing in the post but since using first class, so far not one has been lost.
From a buyers point of view, I love getting my items quickly but I do acknowledge what service the seller offers, if I've not received an item after 5 days I would then chase it with the seller.
I think it may be worth upgrading your service to first class post, I know it's a bit more but if the star rating is important to you I don't see much of an option. Perhaps putting delivery 3-5 days from receipt of payment in big red letters on your listing, but still not everyone would notice that!
Good luck anyway.0 -
I understand how annoying you find some buyers, but some buyers also get a little worked up when they have sent off their hard earned cash and have nothing to show in return for it.
Do you send a message when the item has been dispatched? I find this helps allay the worries of a buyer (and I'm saying that as a seller & a buyer)"Now to trolling as a concept. .... Personally, I've always found it a little sad that people choose to spend such a large proportion of their lives in this way but they do, and we have to deal with it." - MSE Forum Manager 6th July 20100 -

yeah but they get it in 2 days! they just expect it the next day! im not a business, and even businesses dont deliver overnight (just think about how long littlewoods take to deliver things!!). and i do email them when its been sent
the worst thing though is when people buy over the weekend (the last bank holiday weekend was the worst ever!) as they expect their items on monday morning0 -
I send the day after payment is receved or the following day (where possible ie not Saturday and Sunday ~ stated in the auction listing). However once my auctions ended at 3pm and I got them to the post office at 4pm. Two of them reached the buyer's the following day, one was over the moon at the quick service and the other moaned because it wasnt there quick enough :rotfl: People want things in an instant these days, so why they use ebay is anyones guess  Now I state on my auctions in bold writing my dispatch and delivery times according to Royal Mail and when it is classed 'Lost' and if they dont like these terms they they need not bid :T0

omg so less than 24 hour delivery isnt good for some people these days. hmm0

If they pay before about 1430 I post the same day - after then it's the next morning. Everything goes 1st class yet I'm still only on 4.8 for despatch time and 4.7 for p&p charges (I never over-charge on p&p)

There's just no pleasing some people! You can't control everything in life....... your hair was put on your head to remind you of that

I dispatch same day where ever possible, usually post within 30mins of receiving payment as I live next to a post office. Still my dispatch is 4.9 and P+P Charges 4.7, even though I only offer free postage ? There really is no pleasing some people!0

As a frequent buyer I appreciate a fast delivery which I personally consider to be within four days of payment being received by the seller.
I also appreciate a message from a seller who does not use paypal to say that the payment has been received and from all sellers that the item has actually been despatched.0 -
i only ever chase up the seller after 10 days. otherwise there's no point anyway, cos they'll just ask me the wait.Undergrad law student. Take my advice with a pinch of salt! :rotfl:0
