We have a 3 way fridge which runs off a gas cylinder, from the car battery while driving or from a hook up. Makes all the difference being able to have cold fruit juice and cold milk especially if camping for more than 2 days even in this country :)

Fridge every time thay are brilliant
Try and do a good deed every day.
  • I had a mini fridge and also a coolbox. The miini fridge was ok for 1pt of milk a bit of cheese and marg but not much more. Taking a normal coolbox as well, but with about 8 ice blocks so you can refreeze but still have some in all the time worked for us. We used to take a spare car battery for the mini fridge till we got electric hook up. Before all that it was the bucket of water for us too. Well I was in the girl guides.
catons of long life milk are useful too. They don't taste too bad when cold and you can keep them anywhere till you open them.

we have been camping for a while and have recently invested in a 3 way fridge so that we can camp for more than 3 days.
i would def recommend getting a fridge if going for more than a couple of day

Bucket of cold water kept in the shade has served us well for years! ;)

i was just going to suggest this and/or a cool bag. think of the room in the car. we are always jammed packed so the thought of having to get a mini fridge in aswel is a no no for us

Aldi have one of their 'camping equipment' weeks starting from Thurs 11/6 and an electric coolbox is one of their specials. It's gone up £5 since last year. We have one and don't find it noisy:

    thanks for all the replies

I've ordered an electric coolbox from Amazon - more expensive than the Aldi one but it came with the mains adapter (and we don't have an Aldi near us anyway!)

stocked up on tins and packets (and a few treats) at the supermarket - now all we need is decent weather for the weekend!

If only I had a spare 14k, i'd buy the new TAB 400L caravan! It's even got a mini bathroom.

arrived at the campsite on Friday - to find out that DH hadn't booked a pitch with electric hook up! All that worrying about a fridge for nothing :rotfl:
