British Gas discounted electricity

Hello,

I used the comparison sites and one said that if I switched to British Gas discounted electricity I would save over £100. I thought Britidsh gas were supposed to be very expensive? The British gas web site doesn't seem to give any info on their tarriffs. Does anyone know what this discounted electricity is? is it like a credit card, discounted for so many months before jumping up again? It seems so much cheaper than all the others, it seems too good to be true.

BG have always been expensive for Gas, but very competitive for Electricity.

The BG tariffs are all to be found on https://www.house.co.uk but are not easy to find.

I moved to BG for my electricity on a discounted tariff about 6 months ago. When I got my first bill I was not on that tariff - I phoned BG and they couldn't find the tariff I should have been on. The customer service people do not have access to the BG/House website !! - I ended up talking to their IT people who look after the website - they eventually found it and passed the details to CS.
Suggest you keep a good record of the path to any good tariff AND check your first bill.
