or don't add people you work with on facebook!
These things have a way of getting out. If you think that saying something might get you in trouble at work, the safest thing by far is not posting it online!
I would suspect that this could be used for a disciplinary. How far your employer chooses to take it, though, is another question.0 -
I honestly didn't think I could get bollocked for being worrried that our unit could be next. Sounds daft that I could get a disaplinary for bwing worried about my future was my husband that said I could get done for it. So thought id check hoping he would be wrong :-/0

You may get a disciplinary for using the internet whilst at work if you made the entry during working hours.Don't lie, thieve, cheat or steal. The Government do not like the competition.

I'm sorry, I don't apologise. That's just the way I am. Homer (Simpson)0 -
Hmm. You posted it, and within five minutes three people in your office had read it. On Facebook. In working hours.
No wonder your company is closing units down - doesn't anybody actually "work" there?
That probably comes over as more cutting than it's meant to be - but really! What you did was the equivalent of ringing 200 people (or however many friends you have on Facebook), and starting a rumour about your unit! I'd think it warrants a bawling out; but that's about it. (You'll find "bawling out" on page 17 of the standard company disciplinary procedures. Just above "good kicking").
(By the way - I'm self-employed, and will be giving myself a severe bollocking later on for this time wasting).

Did you have your employers name on your f/book page? If not then I doubt they would have a leg to stand on. But like other posters have said be weary of social network sites, many people take them a lot more seriously than others.Taking baby-steps :beer:0
