Quick House sale companies

Hi has anyone had any experience with companies that specialise in quick house sales? We have a 2nd house we can't shift and I've seen a company on net that buys houses straight up but want to know if the catches i.e.reduced rate etc are worth me sending off for brochure???!

Thanks in advance...

They'll probably buy it off you at 75% market rate, after charging you a fortune for a valuation.

Actually you CAN sell your house, just not at the moment at the price you want.

Drop it to 75% and the offers will come flooding in. It ain't rocket science.

It is always worth sending off for a brochure. Doesn't mean you have to go ahead once you have read it.

there have been plenty of discussions on here. the premise seems to go, you pay over the odds for thier valuation. they offer you way below market value, you refuse, they win cos theyve recived the money for the survey. Someone was saying that the surveying doenst even involve entering the property, just driving past. Looks like a con, smells like con, probably is etc
 Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
    This Ive come to know...

No experience of them but found this one the other day. As far as I can see no up front fee but midlands only

I thought about this on my last house (it flooded 2 days after I put it on the market!).

They were fine. Offered me £35,000 on house that was worth £60,000 before flood and managed to sell for £44,000 after flood to a cash buyer. Their offer was rubbish but it didnt cost me anything apart from the time to unlock the door. Though acutally they pretty much look up the land reg to find value for the area and then offer you about 25% less than that. So the money is pants but they do promise a 4 week completion from valuation (or at least the company I called did).

It all depends how quickly you need to sell. If you have more time then drop the price 10% / do a 'house doctor' and hold tight.

I would recommend dropping the price by at least 10% and then still be willing to take an offer.... that should shift it.
