just wondering... cos i'd like to be able to recharge my soon to be purchased mp3 player whilst waiting for my flight at Heathrow. So, are there sockets available to use in waiting areas? I guess there are cos the cleaners would probably need some for their vacuums...

Yes there are some dotted around.0

You don't say which terminal, but look around the floor in the T3 departure lounge and you will find flooboxes with a lid that lifts to reveal a power socket. Whether you will get access to one is doubtful as they are almost always hogged by people using laptops.

T3 - you may also find some dotted around on the pillars that hold the roof up in the departure lounge (although I may be wrong about this)
