My Hotpoint won't rinse and spin

I have a Hotpoint WMA63 which will wash but stops when it gets to the rinse and spin bit, leaving my washing captive in the drum and very soggy. I have got the door open by taking the grey outlet hose and draining it into a bucket and am now doing a maintenance 95 degree wash to see what happens but I cannot find any where that I can check a filter etc. There is a removable panel at the bottom at the front but this appears cosmetic as there is nothing behind it. All I can see at the back is the silver covering of the machine and a hole where the outlet pipe comes from. The intructions manual doesn't mention cleaning afilter or checking the pump. Any suggestions as to what is wrong, what I can do - bearing in mind I am useless at DIY!
