I've had the phone call as well this morning. Have booked a slot for Friday at 10.00am.

Am quite surprized to get a phone call - Next must really need the business. I did read on the weekend that they are one of the retailers who are really struggling at the mo.

I usually get invited for VIP by e-mail - but never by phone before. Also this valued customer nonsense makes me laugh - i actually spend very little with the directory - prefer to go into the store and actually do real shopping rather than virtual!!

I read on another message board that the emails are sent out randomly, so not everybody gets one. Also, if you ask Next to put you on the VIP list you will never get put on it. I think it was somebody who worked for Next that said this.

I've shopped with the NEXT directory for years and never received this VIP ordering. I think its a little unfair and to be honest puts be off shopping with them.

Mid season sales in Next in the past have been a little naf - lets hope this one lives up to its hype!!!!!

I phoned them this afternoon to ask why I was never included in the VIP ordering. They stated that it was random. I told them that a friend of mine gets this VIP privilege every time and that she must be very "lucky" to which the woman on the phone said "Yes very lucky" - Pah! :mad: :mad:

I've heard they're struggling as well, although I seem to remember they were supposed to be doing really well this time last year. Let's hope they reduce loads of stuff in the sale for us to help them get back on track :rotfl:

I have recently ordered a suit for work from next directory - I received the jacket last week and the trousers are due to be delivered this week - if these items were available in the sale - can anyone think of how I could get them at sale prices?

I have also bought a suit from the store and I'm still deciding if I want to keep it or not - as it is still within the 30 day period, if it was now reduced in the sale - is there anything to stop me returning it on Saturday and then buying it again straight away at the reduced price?

I'm sure they pick people who maybe haven't bought anything for a while to encourage them into buying in the sale.

I don't rate this seasons directory items and haven't ordered anything yet but I still haven't been picked as a VIP and I have had the directory for over 7 years.
