Try not to worry about creditors (they dont care a *** about you) IF anyone calls just tell them your talking to cccs/CAB etc & you'll contact them soon
(either that or ignore them)
and if its all getting a little difficult....come here to natter
...My creditors didnt realise anything was wrong with me for a few months missed payments...by the time they'd started to send letters i'd gone BR

'em- let them chase the MP's and banks to fill their coffers- girls' ( and boy) gotta eat.

I know how you feel, we have always paid everything, never defaulted, but we just can't carry on, we cancelled our DD's this week and I have felt sick ever since. I have just filled in my SOA's and need some answers before it's finalised but can't get through to bankruptcy section of CCCS.
Thing is, we will get through all this, but right now I'm having trouble adjusting to the idea.
Can anyone tell me how long it took for them from handing in the SOA to the court to actually being declared bankrupt? Will I have to speak to a judge when I hand in the SOA?
Good luck to everyone going through it.

Yep same here penny. I always paid everybody, even robbing peter to pay paul...but they were still paid. I think the reality hits home when you start to miss bills and worry about phone calls. It is easy for us to say this..we have been there but it does not stop us and me from remembering those first few scarey wks after those first big steps. As others have said it does usually take a few wks or even a month or so for them to conatact and then it is not always via phone.
Take a deep breath and draw some strength from col. Keep going girl it will be worth it in the end.
I hope you treated yourself to something nice to eat....my treat to myself is a prawn sarni(£1.25 from tesco:o)and i love it......now and again:D

I'm in exactly the same boat, everything has always been paid somehow, I canceled all of my DD's last week, I'm waiting for the phone calls, I've already had boat loads from capital one, but I'm ignoring them, or rather a nice little app on my mobile is ignoring them for me

Hi
Just sending you some hugs:grouphug::grouphug::grouphug: Once you make the decision it does get easier. Don't upset yourself over the phone calls because it may take a few weeks before they even notice you aren't paying. My advice would be to seek advice (because when you go to court the judge might ask) and also you will find that once you do you will feel better.
Can I ask if you have contacted the court yet cos some courts have waiting lists. I booked my appointment for Bristol over a week ago and it isn't till August so you might have to wait for an appointment and in my opinion once you have made the decision plan and get on with it. And then the rest of your lives.
Good luck

I have just emailed the court to find out how to move forward, did you call a general number? I have had some advice from CCCS and they have been very useful, but can't get thru to them now and need info desperately!!!:mad:Seeing the light, at long last...BR: 11th June 2009!:T0
