can anybody advise me on what to do a a next step?
ive moved house and two weeks before i spoke to bt to arrange caller re-direct, new phone line and my broadband, the first time 3 different people messed up the order and for some reason they couldn't sort out the caller re-direct, i then spoke to someone who seemed to have a bit of sense, she apparently had everything organised and the engineer was booked for the monday just gone, then everything changed, the order messed up again and the engineer was now booked for tuesday, i sat and waited from 8.00am until 4.30pm, when i finally lost my temper and rang, only to be told that there was no engineer booked, the order was a mess and it has to be passed to the offline team, is there such a thing?
it has been two days now, no phone call!! i cant run my business, as i cant get good enough internet, the caller re-direct is also giving out a totally different number to the one i was given, also the sky plus and h.d box have gone off as there is no phone line so my 3 kids are coming home from school and are driving me mad as there is no tv....
what can i do, how do i contact this offline team

The 'offline' team I've been told will call me within 48 hours. I've told this about 5 times now and they never do. I don't think they actually bother contacting anyone.
I called 38 days ago to do my home move, it was meant to take 5 days. The phone line is now dead. I called yesterday and was told and engineer would be out this morning... I'm still waiting. I know there is nothing wrong with the line because it was working with the previous account holders number on Wednesday.
My number has been connected somewhere as from Wednesday I could call it.
My online BT account now says my account number and telephone number don't match and I can't get access to my account online.
I feel your pain!0 -
Having no phone line should not affect your Sky or HDmake the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -
I was wondering why the absence of a telephone line prevents the reception of TV channels from satellites.Having no phone line should not affect your Sky or HDTime has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.0 -
I had the same problem last year..
My penultimate call to BT lasted 1hr 15mins and achieved nothing.
I was bounced between 9 operators, seemingly 3 departments in India, and got cut off twice. Each time having to go through security checks and explain the issue etc etc.
I finally phoned back and refused to be passed to any department other than cancellations. I was prepared to pay whatever to buy myself out of the contract and never deal with them again.
After finally speaking with someone in the UK who tried to discount my non existent broadband and phone line.. my relationship ended with BT. Forever..
My advice would be to do the same and start again.
If your question doesn't appear on the standard list of the offshore operators.. your stuffed.
My only other regret was not recording my 1:15hr call. It would be nice to have the evidence to provide to BT to see what they think.
I'm not bitter!! Rant over!! Soz0 -
Hi Lukeholt,
I will pick this up for you and get things moving, a few of the posts on this thread have told of similar experiences and I have sent Iscimger a PM concerning the same thing on a different thread.
I am really sorry for all who have been affected by delays of this kind but I will get on the case right away and get things sorted out for all of you. I have sent you a PM too Lukeholt asking for a few details. Drop me a reply when you get a chance and I will be happy to help
Cheers
Craig
