Best way to buy euros

Hi everyone

Can anyone advise me the best way to buy euros? going to France on 4th april for a few days - Disneyland Paris and will need some readies.

you might not get the card for this trip but would be worth getting a nationwide account as they don't charge for overseas withdrawals.

I've used the post office the last 2/3 times I went abroad because it was commision free. I'm guessing that they still do that but the overall service was top notch. Travelex is still cheaper as it gives a better exchange rate, all you do is order online and pick up from the airport when you're flying out (you pick the best time for you, doesn't have to be the day you fly out of course).

Even better than Travelex is Thomas Exchange Global in London (Victoria St and the Strand). However if you can't get to them, Travelex will price match their rates.

How do I found out what their rates are and how do I get Travelex to match them?

i really think this should become a sticky .
travelex online is marginally better than going into a marks and spencer bureaux de change, but if you don't have the right type of debit card the travelex deal becomes a poor one ...see travelex and your own banks policies to decide.

I've set this out in a post already. Basically buy your currency online with Travelex. Call TEG up (their phone number is on their website, google is your friend) and get a quote from them. Email Travelex (full details of their price promise on their website, including email address) with details of TEG quote and your Travelex reference number. Travelex will send you a cheque with the difference.
