When do school summer hoildays start in Scotland

    you're best going to the council website for the area you're looking at/are in and using their search facility to find 'school hloidays'

    east Lothian council are 26th June

    South Ayrshire and East Ayrshire finish Friday 26th June.

    North Ayrshire schools finish Tuesday 30th June.

    It varies from region to region, however Inverclyde is the 24th June. But if u try your local council website then they will give u a whole list of the school term hols from start to end. Hope this is useful.

    Why can schools not regulate the holidays and then we all stop at the same time??? Surely it can't be that difficult?

    It's not the schools that set the holidays it's the local authorities.

    There are advantages to having them staggered, not least for public transport.

  • Anyone else a bit miffed by the fact that the holiday TV programmming for kids starts in time for the English school holidays at the end of July so halfway through our kids hols?
    Not that we spend all summer in front of the TV but it would just be great to have the same sort of holiday programming in Scotland,wouldnt it.
