Short term home insurance

Hi, I posted this in the home insurance thread but have not had a reply yet. Sorry about posting this again but I am going abroad soon and need to get this sorted out quickly.

I am only planning to carry on renting my house for the next 4 months.

Is it possible to only get contents insurance on a monthly basis? I have googled but not found anything. Or, alternatively, is it possible to change the address of the home insurance to a new property when I move?

I have never seen a short term insurance deal.

However, it is quite simple to change the address to the new one when you move, this is absolutly no issue. It is just like changing a car on a motor policy.

The only issue could be if the insurer doesn't mind your current address but thinks there is an issue with the new one (e.g. it doesn't fall within its desired criteriea for flood risk, theft risk etc etc).

Search for quotes for both new and existing addresses and find an insurer which is a good value deal for your insurnace needs for both properties.
