As it is called a "Hidden-Card SD/MMC 2.0 Card Reader" I would hazard a guess that it reads both SD and MMC cards over USB 2.0. So it won't take your Sony memory stick.0 -

I bought one of these, and it read my SD cards fine, but wouldn't write to them! Kept saying the cards were right protected, which they weren't! Dunno if I was just unlucky to get a faulty one....0

I think SD stands for Secure Disk and MMC stands for MultiMediaCard. I've found a search result for memory card definitions:

I've just received mine in the post today. Works perfectly fine in both reading and writing to my SD card. I'll try on it my MMC card when it comes in the post tomorrow or Thursday.0
