ebuyer.com

I have bought a few things off the net and generally been pleased with the service, but I recently used ebuyer.com after a reccomendation from a friend.
The first problem I had was accessing the website, it was as slow as a wet week, at first I thought it might have been my computer, but after trying a different com[uter and several other web sites, wiht no problems its definitely ebuyer. Should have been put off by that alone but being a persistant fool I kept going. I ordered an mp3 player for my sons birthday from the specials bin, 1st fproblem the price quoted was ex vat but still a bit cheaper than the shops, got the confirmation, posted on the friday should arrive on the monday. NO arrival by wednesday so I rang(after 30 min on the net trying to trace the package and getting the phone number) only to be told it was posted first class mail and that it wouldn't be declared lost until 15 working days(the RM told me they declare post lost after 10-15 days). Why they didn't send it registered post, if they have sent it at all, I find it unthinkable that our RM workers would loose such a valuable item, that was more than likely clearly marked as being from an onliune retailer.

I've used ebuyer a lot. Never had any problems. All my deliveries have been through Citilink courier - never seen an option for standard post.

You will find that most computer/peripheral sites advertise prices without VAT.

I've bought about 30 items off e-buyer and only (?!?) had 2 problems:-

    1. CITYLINK - Ebuyer used them for all the deliveries. They do not deliver, they pretend to deliver goods!. Why pretend? If you used their tracking website, I have not been in 6 times and had a blue, green, brown and white door!!! I've been at home all 30 times!

    2. An item that I ordered as an Xmas prezzie wasn't processed for delivery and was 'stuck' in the picking process for approx 1 week. E-buyer gave me an automatic refund after the week as the stock levels were incorrect and they didn't have one. I only noticed, when reordering when the item was back instock that they had only refunded me for the item and not the postage!! (A quick phone call sorted that tho!)

The fun with Ebuyer only really starts when you have to return something.

It took me well over a month to return something to them a year ago and eventually get a refund. The seven day Enotes response played a large part at the time. That was during the time they completely did away with any phone contact.

Additionally, each time i've returned something to them and asked for a refund on a faulty item they've failed to refund my postage. Which has then meant further Enotes and long delays.

Within the past couple of weeks they failed to refund my postage, despite myself doing every thing right as usual with a postage receipt in the returned items box.

My conclusion is that when it comes to customer support they are in a league of their own for abysmal levels of service. For the second time in a year I find myself vowing never to buy from them again.

I am just experiencing the same thing they got my refund wrong and they did not refund the return postage

Digging is therapeutic and in this case it reminds customers old and new what they can expect from the halfwits at Ebuyer
