Firstly, i'll admit i haven't checked through other threads, so, what im asking may have been discussed already, if so, please send me a link.

After my success in claiming PPI back from Lloyds TSB (interest was paid in to my account yesterday, taking the total reclaimed to around £2,700, GET IN!!!), i have decided to take on HFC Beneficial Finance.

However, i paid off the loan back in April, so, im wondering whether i can still try and reclaim my PPI?

I do not know what my account number is/was, if i write to them, will they be able to tell me? What sort of letter do i send? "I want my account number", or do i ask for statements? (if so, do i need to send them the famous £10.00 cheque?)

Also, has anyone here had any success reclaiming from HFC, and roughly how long did it take? It took Lloyds TSB almost 2 months to "investigate" my claim, and repay me.

    Cheers,

    Hi There

First of all congratulations on Lloyds.:T

Yes you can claim on HFC if you feel that you have grounds to do so.

You could find the account No by just ringing them and asking, or if you are signed up to Experian you can check the account No there. Or send £1.00 off to them for a copy of the agreement.

If not then send the SAR letter on the sticky at the top of this thread give them 40 days to respond send by recorded delivery.

Good luck and let us know how you get on.

  • Hello,

I have just received a letter from HFC in response to my claim for refund of PPI.

After following the very straightforward advice on this website along with submitting the template letter relevant to my circumstances I have been offered a FULL refund of PPI along with 8% interest added.

My refund amounts to £4289 approx but as my loan is still active they have said it has to be used to clear my existing balance. I am happy for this to take place as it will reduce my monthly payments hugely and give me much needed disposable income. :j

Martin you are owed at the very least a pint !!!:money::beer:

Advice to everyone, time spent on this website is time well spent - so far ive recovered £4289 from one Finance house, and if the banks lose their case later this month on charges I will be due another £6350 !!!

Well done to you with Lloyds, they are not the easiest either, so great news, Congratulations.
    In regards of HFC:
You can either write to them to request a CCA (copy of your agreement) by enclosing just a small cost of a £1 postal order or cheque payment, they have 12 days to supply this by post. (post by recorded delivery).
Write down you personal details in order for them to track this down, such as DOB any different address at the time of taking this out and surname etc.

You may also come across the account number for this loan on your old bank statements, this would be next to the loan repayments made every month. If you do online banking this should take you back as far as 6 years.

Another way is to pay £10 postal order or cheque payments for a Full SAR (Subject Access Request), again write in your personal details in order for them to track this down. They have 40 days to comply.
    Link to SAR templates here:
    http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=1475553

If you do come across the account number you can continue to try to reclaim on the PPI if you were mis sold this for any reason.
They have 8 weeks to respond in full.

Write to them again if they don't resolve this, or until you receive the "final response" they should let you know if its the final letter and with details of the financial ombudsman service (FOS) if your not satisfied with the outcome.

Here is the link with templates, write your own reasons, good luck and remember to post all letters by recorded delivery.;)

Does anyone know of a postal adress for HFC Beneficial Finance?

Have just been on Google to look, found the Beneficial Finance site, and it said that their branches were currently closed? Does this mean they have gone bust?

Please can someone supply an adress, got the letter ready to go, no were to post it to though.
