DSi help PLEASE!

Arrghh!
My DH collegue does those chips for the DS.
My kids have one each.
My sis ordered one for her DS DSi. Now she checked what games were on it on her dd's DS. Got a text from her earlier saying the games don't work on my nephews DSi. It's his birthday today.
I just want to check that it's the same system for games.
Should have told her to try the chip out in it. I tried the kids chips in their ds before xmas.
My poor nephew, he must be gutted.
I am not at all technical (& neither is my sis) so all help/advice required!

the dsi uses different ones R4i carts0

The DSi has better (more stringent) DRM so using pirated games on it will be more difficult. As such you need a different R4 card for the DSi
Copied/pirated games are illegal btw......0 -
Old r4 cards only work on the ds, the dsi requires the newer "i" cards for example dstti, r4dsi, ak2i etc.
www.nds-cards.co.uk stock a range for both the ds and the dsi if this helps.0
