Bike Insurance Trying to Rip Me Off...

I just got my policy document through for a policy that started on Monday. They have put that the vehicle is only for social, domestic and pleasure use excluding commuting when I specifically asked for commuting. I even asked whether have commuting on there affected the price and the guy on the phone said no!!

Also they have decided I have 'datatag' on my motorbike as additional security. I have never even heard of datatag so how can my new bike have it?!

Are they hoping I just won't notice their mistakes and find I am actually uninsured? When i call in the morning should I just ask to make a complaint straight out? I am worried that if I amend it they will try and make an admin fee even though it is THEIR mistake.

Your best bet is to be calm and polite and request to speak to a superviser, explain the situation and if needed ask them to listen to the tape.

I you have no luck then you should be able to request a cancellation under the 14 day cooling off period which will either have no charge or a charge of up to £50ish.

Well done for actually reading your documents and noticing this as most people do not bother

i do have 14 day cooling off - but they are the cheapest I found - guess I know why now!!, i just can't believe they would try and pull this. I buy over the phone to AVOID mistakes, not create them!
