Wood for chimneas

I have a load of treated wood left over from a build and with summer coming (probably already here), i have seen some chimnea type items that also double up to cook from.

I know you can't use treated wood on an open fire indoors because of the fumes, but you can use them in a wood burner. Do you think it would be safe to cook from outside though???
