How Much For Gas????
dickieg
I looked at a house today and was impressed with it, its in a good area and needs a bit of work doing to it, but at the price its worth spending a bit on it, one of the problems is it as no gas connection, the woman reckons the next door neighbour had gas put into their house and so the pipe work only needs running about 5 meters into the house, could someone give me a rough idea of how much a) it would be for 5 meters & b) about 20 meters to be joined to the main gas pipe. Many thanx in advance

rather than guessing if it's a) possible and b) the cost why don't you call up British gas and ask them?0

£1,347.26
Cheers!

PS Please post what the actual price is when it is done....0 -
I know its possible so if anyone can really help, i only asked the question to see roughly how much it would be as an idea, before i phoned the gas board0

transco do the gas connections from the mains to the house0

There's a sheet on the transco site (not sure it's called that these days) - that you hae to fill in and I think it has prices on0

i paid £400 for a new trench less than 6 foot long, 1 foot wide - 4 years ago - they have a monopoly0

The surveyor chap said if we'd rung and spoken to someone prior to filling in the form we could have got our buikler to dig a trench from the front to the back they'd have put the piping in for the same price to the back as we paid to have it moved a meter or two.
However whether it actually happens like that or it's entirely up to whoever comes out I am not sure.0
