windows explore stopped working

sister just rung me problems with her system again a small box comes up to say windows explore has stopped working, windows will check system then the page she was viewing closes? any ideas welcome.

"Windows explorer" is your desktop, its everything from the Icons to the taskbar, all folders and more.
"Internet explorer" is different, thats just the internet.

I assume she's a relative and not a nun ;p
Windows explorer errors normally close the desktop and restart it.
Ask your sister if everything momentarily disappears when this box comes up, if not and the box definitely says "Windows explorer" then I'd strongly suspect a Virus infection.

If the problem is "Windows Explorer", it's likely to be driver issue and Id try restoring the system back a few months.

If it's "Internet explorer", i'd remove and reinstall it or install Firefox instead and never use it again.

your right she is my lovely sister drives me mad but love her to death....
the page shes viewing just disappears after the warning box, picture goes out of focus,leaving her having to open the page up again, not every page and not every night?
