Cash From Cash Machine - Dont Work?

I have a problem,I have reactivated a 12,000 credit card with Capital one yesterday and have a new pin number, and today I wanted to draw some cash off the card for a short term loan, i tried last night and again today and although the card accepts my pin number etc etc ,it says it cannot dispense cash via this method?? I thought provided you had the credit and the pin you could draw cash from the ATM ? Is this still the case???
Any help urgently appreciated.

    Not sure why it didn't work, maybe contact capital one and ask.

    I would strongly advise against withdrawing cash on a credit card - its got to be the most expensive way to get a loan.

    It might be that you are asking for more cash than the cash machine is programed to give at one go.
    I used to be indecisive but now I am not sure.

    I have an Egg money card, and cash can be withdrawn free when in credit.

    I have found that some machines dont accept this card others do

    Sainsburys and Britannia dont
    Abbey, Lloyds Tsb and Tesco RBS machines do
